Fatigue Risk Management
The creation of a fatigue risk management plan is essential to promote the health and safety of the worker in the workplace and at home. Frameworks and educational presentations are designed to manage the health and safety risks resulting from fatigue related impairment. These programs are developed in collaboration with your company and tailored to your specific needs.
- Shared Responsibility Management Plan
Everyone at the workplace has a responsibility to ensure that fatigue does not affect their own or other’s health and safety in the workplace. The management of fatigue in the workplace is a shared responsibility between the company and its personnel.
According to the Workplace Shared Responsibility Model, the company is responsible for providing a safe system of work which includes the development, implementation and management of working time schedules and the establishment of a safe work environment and work practices.
Everyone has an obligation to ensure they are fit for duty by taking into account their lifestyle and medical factors, including sleep disorders that could influence fatigue, and managing these appropriately.
We can help create and implement a companywide framework – reviewing active rosters, work schedules, establishment of a safe work environment and work practices which will reduce the safety risks associated with fatigue.
- Fatigue Education
Employee/Management fatigue awareness education is a key component of a Fatigue Risk Management Plan. The educational component will empower employees with the knowledge and ability to manage their own fitness for work. The educational program will be on-going and flexible and it will respond to fatigue related trends.
- Ongoing Communication
Communications will provide an educational awareness program aimed at helping all employees understand the importance of managing fatigue as it relates to improved health, well-being and productivity. Communication tools will consist of posters, banners, information pamphlets, newsletters , line meetings, video and will cover topics such as:
